District 9 Youth Council (D9YC)

San Francisco’s District 9 Youth Council (D9YC) works with Supervisor Jackie Fielder’s Office, Calle 24 Latino Cultural District, Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco, and local nonprofits and organizations to uplift youth voice in District 9 and advise the Supervisor’s office on policy affecting young persons in District 9.

The council maintains special emphasis on:

  • San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) students,

  • Latino and Youth of color

  • Low-income youth

  • Youth affected by violence, crime, or the juvenile incarceration system

  • Undocumented youth or youth with undocumented family members

  • Immigrant and refugee youth

  • Unhoused youth or youth living under housing uncertainty,

  • Youth with physical or mental disability or impairment

  • Youth affected by substance abuse or addiction
